Technical Support Department

The Technical Support Department (TSD) of the KNUST Library System comprises the Information Technology (IT), Power & Electrical, and Media Units. The Department provides technical infrastructure, support services, and solutions that facilitate the effective delivery of library services and support the University’s teaching, learning, research, and administrative activities.

The IT Unit manages the Library’s ICT infrastructure, systems, networks, digital platforms, websites, and other technology services, while providing technical support to staff and library users in collaboration with the University Information Technology Services (UITS) Directorate.

The Power & Electrical Unit ensures the availability, safety, maintenance, and efficient operation of electrical installations, lighting, backup power systems, UPS units, inverters, and other electrical infrastructure within the Library System.

The Media Unit provides audiovisual and multimedia services, including the installation, operation, maintenance, and technical support of projectors, public address systems, cameras, displays, microphones, and other media equipment for library programmes, meetings, workshops, conferences, and academic activities.

Through these units, the Department ensures reliable and efficient technical, electrical, ICT, and media services across the KNUST Library System.
